Calling all aspiring astronauts and space engineers — it's time to suit up for Mission Ares , humanity's first mission to Mars! In this exciting STEM program, students will step into the role of mission specialists on NASA’s Ares Mission.
👩🚀 Step into the role of a NASA mission specialist
🛠 Build and test rockets & Mars landers
🌍 Explore our solar system and the science of space travel
🤝 Take on exciting engineering challenges and real mission scenarios
From launching rockets to designing crash-proof landers for eggstronauts, every day is a fun new mission filled with hands-on experiments and tinkering. Along the way, campers will sharpen their problem-solving skills, boost creativity, and learn how to work like real scientists and engineers.
🛰 Camp Highlights:
🌬️
Rocket Science & Aerodynamics
Engineers dive into Newton's 3 Laws and the principles of flight, learning how forces like lift,
drag, and thrust affect rocket design. Through interactive experiments, they’ll
uncover how Bernoulli’s Principle helps objects move through air—and put their
knowledge to the test by designing, building, and launching their own rockets!
🌕
Surviving Descent to Mars
What does it take to land safely on Mars? Students will explore the extreme challenges of space travel, from atmospheric differences to impact forces.
They’ll discover how material scientists and structural engineers carefully choose materials and harness the strength of shapes to build mission-ready rockets and landers —investigating why structures like triangles and domes are used in engineering to absorb and distribute force. Working in teams, they’ll design and build a Mars lander prototype, testing and refining their creations to help their Eggstronaut survive a simulated Mars descent!
✨ What Campers Will Gain:
- Real-world understanding of physics concepts like gravity, aerodynamics and air pressure
- Insight into structural engineering and the strength of shapes
- Critical thinking and teamwork skills
- A deeper appreciation of modern space exploration and the Artemis Mission
- Perfect for curious kids who love to build, experiment, and dream BIG
